Yay! It’s A Country House Summer!
Summer…it’s here! And with it brings good growing, fresh garden to table eats, and late into the evening campfire gatherings. Life’s lived outdoors, and what living we do indoors now is scaled way back. Summer’s a time for keeping it simple, and clearing out what’s not working any longer (indoors and out). Minimalism and freshness abound! I’m doing a cannonball right into summer, and pledging to soak in every single day of this glorious season, because before I know it, there’ll be a chill in the air, and it’ll be time to go back in!
I’ve pulled together some of my favorite Country House summertime images to get us into the spirit of the season….Cannonball!!

The pic of the zinnia call my name,, my all time favorites! I have added bowls of shells since I found your site and ALWAYS get positive comments on them. You will laugh at us ordering seafood in a restaurant and telling them we MUST have the shells to go. HA HA! Have had many good meals and have acquired a nice collection of shells being influenced by NORA. Thanks for all the inspiration you give to me. Happy Summer!

Everything looks so inviting and cozy. You have a real gift! I am looking forward to fixing up my 80 year old log cabin. It is small (820 sq ft) but it is just my husband and myself. I just want to say that you are one talented lady!! I absolutely love your photos. For those of us who have not visited the Eastern shore, they allow us to see it and dream about traveling there one day. I love the gardening ideas you show us and the wonderful home you have in Connecticut. I love to see the beautiful linens and how you mix and match. It gives me the courage to try it for myself. I always get such good ideas from you. I really wish you would do a book just on your home and your crafts. I still love books.
