Sunday, April 10th is opening day for the Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market in New Milford, CT. Whether you’re a flea market aficionado or just a casual shopper, it’s always a wonderful place to poke around, hunt for treasures and practice “outside the box” thinking.

Flea Market Preparedness Plan

Weather appropriate clothing. Think layers.

Sunscreen. This particular flea market field offers little protection from the sun.

Hat and/or sunglasses. Not just for the coolness factor.

Comfy shoes.

Measuring tape.

Smart phone.

Cash. Cash is king. Smallish bills accepted everywhere.

A wheeled cart or wagon. Be true to yourself. If you know you’re a die-hard shopper, do yourself a favor and bring one along. It can wait in the car until you need it, and you won’t even need to crack the windows.

Friends/enablers. Bring them or meet them there. It’s always more fun to bounce ideas off of people that know, love, and accept you, despite your Lucy Ricardo ideas.

Have fun!

Love, Nora

Yep I fondly remember the Elephant’s Trunk flea market from when I lived in New Milford. Hope it’s not muddy for you tomorrow.

Nora, My pals and I have been going on forays to the Elephants Trunk for many years now. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning, whether you hit the junking jackpot or just need an excuse for a walk!
