Wow. That was quick! While not the official, official end of the season, Labor Day signifies a close to a lot of activities that I associate with the carefree style that the warm weather and long days of summer bring.

Tending, harvesting and just meandering around the gardens. Refreshing Connecticut Country House – wait until you see!

And of course, vacation. Me. My Boys. Nantucket. A vintage fisherman’s cottage by the sea. The beach. Pure bliss. . . . .sigh. . . .

This season’s been filled with good friends, good food, good travels, and a lot of good times. I’ll miss you summer, but I’m ready for the beauty that every autumn brings to my beloved Connecticut.

Wishing you a relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Love, Nora

What a lovely world you live in, Nora.

Summer seems to have gone from my corner of the woods and early fall has set in~ there’s new snow on our mountains this morning!

I’m so looking forward to the first glimpses of your home in all it’s white and shimmering glory!

Beautiful pictures! Makes me want to go out and buy a better camera, plant a garden, hoist a flag, sail a boat!! I am glad you had such a lovely summer, you deserve it. I am looking forward to your fall magazine!

Beautiful photo tour of your summer!

While waiting for my iron to heat up today, I was checking email on my phone and noticed I had an email telling me about this posting. “Hmm…,” I thought, “…Nora Murphy is saying goodbye to summer.” *little happy dance by the ironing board* “That means that her fall issue can’t be far away!” Looking forward to it!

i went to my first football game of the season today, which I normally love! I’m just not ready for the change in seasons yet but it’s coming either way so I need to embrace it!
