Ingredients

1 to 1½ pounds ground sirloin

3 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning

3 tablespoons garlic powder

2 tablespoons ancho powder

3 to 4 English muffins, split and toasted

Tomato, thickly sliced

Onion, sliced

Lettuce leaves, washed and dried

Directions

Heat the grill and form three to four burgers (yep, they’re big ones!), taking care not to overwork the meat. Mix the Old Bay, garlic powder, and ancho powder on a plate.

Press both sides of the burger into the dry rub mixture.

Once the grill is really hot, place the burgers on the rack. Do not press down on them with a spatula (important griller’s tip for keeping them moist), and only flip them once.

After removing them from the grill, let them rest for a few minutes. Serve on a toasted split English muffin, and top off with a onion, a thickly sliced ripe garden tomato, and a crisp lettuce leaf.
