I met my fellow blogger, Courtney Allison a couple of years ago at the Design Bloggers Conference. A super beautiful person, inside and out, Courtney’s style is really a true reflection of her. She’s a can-do woman and I liked her the minute I met her! I also have the unique bragging rights of saying that Courtney’s home was going to be one of my Country Houses in my book. Her romantic home in California would have made a wonderful chapter, but it was not meant to be. You see Courtney clinched her own book deal with Gibbs Smith at the same time I had signed with Vendome Press. Shucks. Nevertheless, I am so happy for her.

Courtney Allison’s new book, French Country Cottage is pure eye candy! Filled with gorgeous spaces inside and out, blooming flowers in abundance, and the prettiest chosen vintage finds, are just some of the elements that make up this home. It did not always look or feel like this. Courtney recounts the wonderful back story about falling in love with a 1940’s cottage in Northern California that truly was a handyman special…and then some! (The realtor advised them to bulldoze it and build anew!) To read about where she and her family started, and then to see her stunning photography capture the beauty of this place she’s created and calls home is pretty remarkable.

Courtney’s style and mine may seem to be different, but not really. The philosophy we both share is as Courtney so perfectly puts in in her book, “It is a style that appreciates “well worn” and sees it as “well loved”. I couldn’t agree with her more.

You can find Courtney’s book, French Country Cottage at your local booksellers or online:

Please do purchase her beautiful book…you will love it! I promise!!

Love, Nora
