Today at Connecticut Country House it’s all hands on deck in decorating the exterior with our collection of flags.  Each area around the house gets its own unique flag – traditional flags hanging from a pole or mounted hanging flat with nails, long antique buntings – hanging down straight or swagged, and semi-circular buntings that are always mounted over the three eyebrow windows of the old house’s front facade.  They’re all freshly washed, and drying in the sun – next stop the ironing board – and then up the ladders we go to hang and primp them in place.

Happy Fourth of July!
