A dramatic silhouette. This striking vintage American eagle wall plaque depicts an eagle in flight with wings fully extended and talons lowered. Cast with wonderfully detailed feathering throughout the wings and body, the sculptural bird retains remnants of an old gilt finish beneath decades of darkened surface patina and green oxidation. The resulting mottled bronze, gold, and verdigris tones give the eagle an especially rich, timeworn appearance.
