Set a Holiday Tartan Table
Calling all tartan lovers! This latest Better Connecticut Lifestyle segment is dedicated to you!
I wish I was able to get this uploaded in time for Christmas, but the more I think about it, tartan is always in style. So maybe for your New Year’s Eve table…or later on into the dreary winter months when we’ll be craving wonderful color and pattern, this tartan table idea will be just right.
Enjoy!
Love, Nora
Loved this blog with all the colorful tartans. I also purchased a set of the “bee” glasses too and just adore them!
Hi Mary Lou! Thanks so very much! Cannot go wrong with tartans!! I am so happy you bought the La Rochere Bee glasses! You’ll find that they work beautifully into your table settings all year! (And they are so hearty!!)
Happy New Year! Love, Nora
So lovely. Question: Do you serve your guests family-style, or do you fill the plates in the kitchen? I have a bench as well, and it’s hard to move guests once seated.
Hi Linda! For the table I set with the long bench, it’s totally a buffet style dinner. You are so right, the people on the bench are there for the duration! ? Happy New Year! Love, Nora
Caught this on Vimeo the other day Nora. Your table is stunning and so perfect for this holiday season. Your collection of tartan blankets is truly amazing. Did you pick those up stateside? I am constantly on the lookout for wool tartans that are primarily red and have had little luck. I’m just wondering if you snagged those on your travels aboard.
Hi Vickie! Yes, most of my tartan throws have been found at Brimfield, estate sales…love them all! Happy New Year! Love, Nora
I am a TOTAL plaid girl – since childhood when I coveted my red plaid lunch box:) A beautiful table and home! Always enjoy your fresh ideas that don’t cost a fortune! Happy Holidays to you and your family:)
