Welcome Holiday Season!
It’s funny how my mindset changes from yesterday’s Halloween mode to today’s more somber kick-off to the holiday season. October was a crazy month, filled with NMCH book deadlines and lots of travel. We are back from our whirlwind trip to London for the much anticipated Amara Awards, and the Country Living Fair in Georgia!
Unfortunately, we did not win our category at The Amara Awards. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you so very much for your votes and amazing support! My dear friend, and Art Director, Carol Hubner joined me and we were proud to represent NMCH, and Newtown, CT, and the US, at this International affair. Bottom line, I was so honored to have NMCH be a nominee out of 800 blog entries! When I really think about it, that’s crazy!!
Country Living Fair was a great success. I was so happy to finally meet so many of you (thank you for coming!), and we pretty much filled the tent with my Q&A talk with Country Living’s editor, Rachel Harding Barrett. Loved talking with her about my Connecticut Country House that was all decorated for the holidays, and will be featured in their December issue (on news stands November 15th!). All I can say is that the photography is stunning! (You can see the Q&A video here on my NMCH Facebook page.)
So ‘Hello November’! Scot Haney, WFSB’s Better Connecticut is coming to shoot multiple segments at Connecticut Country House. We’ll be making before & after Thanksgiving Dinner nibbles…as well as decorate the dining room for New Year’s! (I’ll have to wear a New Year’s Eve hat to get in the mood!) Mid-November, I’ll be judging beautifully decorated Christmas Trees at the 18th Biennial Tree Festival at The Loundsbury House in Ridgefield CT. NMCH will have a fully decorated tree as well, but obviously I won’t be judging our own tree! (Event details here.)
Oh, and did I mention that my NMCH SHOP is now open?! (Click here to check it out….but more on that Friday!)
Why do I have a feeling that this month is going to go by in the blink of an eye? To keep track of this month, at a glance, please do download our November Desktop Calendar…it’s my gift to you!
Happy November!
Love, Nora
Seriously. All this AND your house in Country Living magazine!? I can’t say I’m surprised, because I love both your house + taste + think CL is still knocking it out of the ballpark every month. Congratulations!
CL improved when Rachel Harding Barrett joined as editor, and now it just got even better! Can’t wait to get my issue. Kudos.
