My Little Secret Garden(s)
I want to let you in on a secret.
One of my favorite things to do in May is to poke around and shop some of the local garden club plant sales. Usually held around Mother’s Day, they’re a wonderful opportunity to chat with fellow gardeners, pick up tips and techniques, and to learn about both heirloom and new varieties. It’s also terrific way to pick up organically grown seedlings for the kitchen garden, and to fill in my perennial borders with native plants and shrubs.
From humble beginnings, and through adding to my beds this way, I’ve amassed quite a collection of plants over the years. I love what a gorgeous, impactful statement they make and knowing that my purchases help support local conservation efforts in my community.
Check your local newspaper for what plant sales are happening in your area!
Happy Hunting & Gardening!
Love, Nora
