An Artist’s Table
For my latest segment on WFSB’s Better Connecticut, as their new Lifestyle contributor, I had a great time designing a holiday table with a beautiful autumnal look that’s just perfect for Thanksgiving. I think it’s one of my new favorites!
In the studio, the Ethan Allen Cameron Dining Table was the perfect size to accommodate 6 place settings. Back home at Connecticut Country House, my 19th c. French worktable, at a luxurious 10 feet, readily seats 10 guests with plenty of elbow room.
While the sizes are different, the earthy vibe of the tables is the same and sets the tone. I always say, ‘let the table do the talkin’ and go from there! I wanted to keep the look light and natural, a little rustic, yet elegant. Beautiful hand-crafted Simon Pearce pieces, combined with what’s in season – creamy white pumpkins in a variety of sizes – creates a beautiful look that celebrates the joy and the bounty of this holiday.
The ingredients for my table:
- Red & White Banana Bark Placemats
- Westport Hurricanes – Large & Medium with pillar candles
- Belmont Dove Dinner Plates
- Belmont Dove Side Plates
- Linen Crinkle Napkins – Natural
- Woodbury Graphite 5-pc. Flatware Setting
- Essex Goblets
- Essex Wine Glass
- Essex White Wine
- All white pumpkins in a variety of sizes.
Happy decorating!
Love, Nora
