My Coat Nook Look
A small, sun filled space near the entryway and right off the Family Room, is our go-to spot for keeping what we need to head out the door.
Because the space is tiny, organization is simple, but key. A clever coat rack fashioned from iron horse shoes is sturdy and keeps our raincoats, sweatshirts, straw hats and LL Bean totes readily accessible. A vintage harvest basket corrals our favorite baseball caps, and in winter, gloves and knit hats. A metal tray on the floor is an efficient way to contain the inevitable dirt and muck from garden and rain boots. An old wooden plank from Maine, with a hand engraved fish, and a small boat flag, while not necessary for keeping clutter in check, provide a nice finishing touch.
Happy organizing!
Love, Nora
Your sunny spot offers a cozy feel.
You failed to mention one of the best features, the chandelier.
Give me some history on the chandelier, please.
The flag is also a welcome accessory.
Thank you for sharing! Your photos are the best.

It really looks great!
Wondering if you would mind sharing who made the hanging fixture in your darling coat nook area.
Hi Gretchen! I bought the 2 coat racks from an antiques shop in upsate NY years ago. They’re made up of old horseshoes. I loved them the minute I saw them. They hold a ton of coats in the winter!! Thanks very much. Take care, Love, Nora
