Happy Walls
This is our Family Room – our kick-back, put your feet up, pull up a chair, TV watching, game playing, and spreading out family and friends hang-out. It’s a feel good space where I keep the decorating really simple and straightforward.
What contributes to the comfy and happy vibe in here, is the art on the walls. From Conor’s spontaneous artwork from the age of 5 – my favorite art at Connecticut Country House – to the whimsical patterns and colors of the early quilt square and the Victorian unfinished needlepoint. They all feel personal, like they were created with lots of love and care.
Surround yourself with what you love and be happy!
Love, Nora

Hi Nan! The child’s art is original. Conor had a big oversized pad of newsprint paper for drawing, and when he was 5, I had to go on a business trip. The night I returned, he pulled out the big pad, and grabbed big sharpie markers and spontaneously drew these!!! It broke my heart…the drawings are just so genuine….LOVE them dearly! Thanks!~ Love, Nora 🙂
I’ll be right over to put my feet up and watch some HGTV with you in that room. I’ll bring snacks!
I am loving the pillow covers. Are they Pottery Barn?
Hi Stacy! All the lilim pillow covers were Brimfield finds! I’m always on the lookout for interesting patterns and beautiful color combos! Love, Nora
Are these pieces you were choosing fabric to slip earlier in the year? If so they turned out just fabulous. I am also crazy over the kilim rug pillows. They add instant character and history to an interior. So just how many dining spaces does the country house have Nor?
