A few years back I signed up to be a chaperone for my son Conor’s middle school field trip to Philadelphia.  Our mission, with hundreds of kids in tow, was to walk the Constitutional Trail.  There’s a first time for everything, and this trip was certainly chock full of them.  Our first time to Philly.  Our first ever large-scale field trip.  And, the first word that came to my mind was chaotic.  (Followed closely in numerical order by:  What.  Was.  I.  Thinking!)  With my trusty iPhone in hand, I had one eye on my band of boys, while the other was absorbing all the history and beauty around me.  It was amazing.  Promise to self:  Return again.  Small-scale.  Take in the sights, slowly.  Relaxed.  Just Murph and Conor by my side.

Relax.  Sit back.  Enjoy the tour!

Happy Independence Day! Love, Nora

    Wonderful posting for today, Nora!

I have done Philadelphia twice. Once with just our family, and once with my son’s civics club…so, I hear you! 😉 Great job capturing the captivating architectural details! Oh, and when you go back with just your family, be sure to eat at The City Tavern! Great food! (They have a cookbook in print too!)
