The Understated Filler
Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla Mollis) is one of my favorite perennial cottage garden plants. These low maintenance plants are a perfect solution for edging your garden in a full sun to lightly shaded spot. About 10 years ago, I started planting them by my kitchen door as filler in front of the row of boxwood and the Fairy rose garden bed.
I adore the scalloped leaves that hold onto water drops, and when cut, are so pretty tucked into small bouquets. When they’re in bloom early spring into summer, these masses of frothy chartreuse flowers brightens the entire garden. In bouquets and arrangements, they contrast so beautifully with bright peonies, roses, and lilies. One of my favorite combos of the season!
Plant some Lady’s Mantle…I just know you’ll love them too.

Beautiful!
Thank you so much for this post! I pinned a picture of some flowers I loved in front of a picketed fence and had NO idea what this plant was….I know I am just going to love it! Thank again for posting! 🙂
