The thrill of the hunt
The countdown begins. Tomorrow we’re hosting a big family gathering here at Connecticut Country House, and we’ll kick off the Easter Sunday festivities with our annual Easter Egg Hunt.
I love it. Love every part of it. Love pulling together all the teeny tiny stuff that ends up as a little surprise in each garishly bright (as they should be) plastic egg. Love watching Conor administer his Master of Ceremonies duties – from expertly hiding the few dozen treasure laden eggs out on the lawn and around the gardens, to calling the shots and running the show.
For me, the Easter Egg Hunt is like Christmas morning – I really enjoy stepping back and watching all the excitement. And as I look all around me I can clearly see that the joy is most contagious – from ages 5 to 85!
Wishing you and your family a very happy and blessed Easter!
Love, Nora
Nora you are hired to fill my plastic eggs next year! So nice to hear someone enjoys pulling together all the small bits – treasures really – to fill the eggs. I’ll be honest, it’s my least favorite part. Thanks for sharing your joyous pictures and thoughts.
