What if you had a place to get away to for a few minutes everyday, a welcoming perch where you could see a fresh take on satisfying rustic nibbles and sips from my country kitchen and hub…where there is always something brewing?

Would you like to take a behind the scenes peek into a hive of activity as we prepare for a highly spirited gathering of family and friends or settle in for a quiet cozy dinner by the fireplace?

What if you had a gardening resource where you could get the scoop of the day to find creative and practical ideas for making the most of the season?  Whether it’s decorating for a special occasion, re-shuffling your floor plan, or sprucing things up with simple styling tweaks, this is the place for some helpful troubleshooting.

This place is called Connecticut Country House, and it’s where, for a few minutes, you can see your world just a little differently.

The muse is my 245-year-old Connecticut Country House that, to this day, is still evolving in optimizing the functionality needed for our busy 21st century lifestyle while honoring and making the most of its classic 18th century beauty.  This blog is just the threshold, my first step in building a new source of inspiration and motivation for living a good life.

I hope that by opening my home to you, it will inspire you to bring together your family and friends and create your own warm-hearted stories and good cheer. So, please step right in and make yourself at home!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade wind in your sails.
