Instead of an elf on a shelf, it’s a whale on a shelf because of his whale of a tail!
Whidby is quite unique because he doesn’t hang on a wall, he sits on a surface so he can let his hand cut tale hang. His maker, Andy Teran, specializes in whales. He takes old found pieces of driftwood with lots of character, and let’s that character shine through in each and every individual piece. Whidby was created from driftwood found on the banks of the Connecticut River, Haddam, CT. I absolutely adore the large “knot” for his eye, and the wavy nature of his form and surface. Love Whidby!
