Vintage Yacht Fender

A rare find! This amazing vintage wicker boat fender was traditionally used to protect wooden boats and docks from impact while moored. The rounded hand split willow rods surround an internal buoy structure, designed to absorb contact between vessels and dock surfaces. The weathered iron plates and large ring attachments allowed the fender to be secured with rope to the side of a boat. Today these beautifully aged nautical pieces have become highly sought after as decorative accents.
