Seeing stars. One of my favorite finds, this gorgeous 18th c. copper engraving is the real deal! Originally found in the volumes relating to Crustaceans, Shells, Sea Urchins, and a variety of sea creatures, these volumes were published between 1791-1798. Hand colored in a beautiful, rich autumnal color palette, matted and framed professionally. The frame is an early 19th c. vintage with a gilded face and sunflower gold painted sides. The glass is from my collection of early glass. Stunning.
