A rare specimen. This beautiful antique silk needlework of a potted Moss Rose and a curious little butterfly was found at a Newtown Antiques Show years ago. I was told by the dealer that it came from the Crane estate (as in Crane Paper Co.)
As a gardener, I fell in love with the subject matter instantly. And as a lover of antiques, its original Bird’s Eye Maple frame with gilded liner and wonderful old glass (and an old brass ring at the top for hanging) made it a perfect combination of all the things I love. Sadly, I’ve run out of wall space, so I’m looking to find this favorite of mine a new, loving home.
