New life for antique wood. This wonderful piece is made from a salvaged shiplap panel wall found in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. The artist who created this work of art signed it, and even shared its provenance on the back. The back board has fantastic original paint of chalky white and dove grey with a tinge of light butter yellow at the fine beaded top edge. The navy-black dolphin has just the right amount of wear with his eye made up of a rusty rose head nail. I have had this piece hanging in our Master Bedroom suite (The Coop), and it’s made such a great graphic and bold statement!
