Oak Bluffs Cup

A beautiful find. I love this 19th c. ironstone mug with its fabulous hand painted deep bright pink swags, jabots, roping trim and tassels….not to mention the unusual motif of a flowering hanging basket! A very faded name is hand painted below – but so time worn that it is hard to make out. The softly faded gilding around its stepped base is the crowning touch. I’ve always used this stunning cup for freshly cut roses. Perfect combination! Love.
