Marronnier D’Inde
$425.00
A rare find! I fell in love with this etching of the Horse Chestnut plant the moment I spotted it. It is signed by Abraham Bosse, and has the original plate marks, and hand coloring. Abraham Bosse (1604-1676) was a French artist, mainly a printmaker in etching, but also in watercolor during the Baroque period. In 1667, the Academy began a scientific venture to publish a complete history of plants which would include chemical, medical and botanical analyses of all the species.
