“Il met fait de tout me chere” I believe is roughly translated to “This holds everything that is dear to me”. I found this stunning early 19th c. Paper Mache box some time ago, and fell in love with the drawing and the saying. All black with exception of the decoupage printed face. Notice the young ladies’ dresses and the elements of their room: the pedestal table, the early mirror, chair and pulled back ruffled drapery…My fellow Country House lovers, this is truly magnifique!
