A Parisian fabulous find. Years ago, I had found an antique print shop on the right bank of the Seine River in Paris. I called the shop “the Print Lady”. Some of my very favorite antique engravings are from her tiny and quite wonderful shop. This eighteenth century engraving, Jardins de l’Abbaye Royale se St. Denis, was an amazing find there. As a gardener, I adore the subject matter of gardeners working the gardens filled with paths and topiaries. It retains its original hand coloring that features the most stunning Cerulean Blue sky! The frame is very special also. Found at the Paris Flea Market, it is an oldie that had been stripped and sanded down to its bare wood. I love the natural essence of it and fits the garden theme so perfectly.
