A quiet weekend begins in the country kitchen (we call it “the hub”) with the best of comfort foods. For starters it’s usually a pot of oatmeal simmering on the stove — a winter staple. Oversized soup mugs are always stacked by the stove along with an old mustard crock filled with antique Irish soup spoons. Don’t forget the best part: the gentle sprinkling of freshly grated cinnamon to top it off. Mmm.
