Hodges & Mansur, Boston

$198.00

Humble beginnings. Here’s the little backstory I found online:In the 1890s the United States Baking Company built a bakery at 465 Medford Street. According to Boston Landmarks Commission, Warren Mansur, originally from Houlton, Maine was the first manager of United States Bakery. Mr. Mansur, along with a partner also owned the Hodges-Mansur Bakery at Sullivan Square. In 1898 the U.S. Baking Company merged with the New York Biscuit Company and became the National Biscuit Company (NABISCO). Fun fact! This wonderful old turn of the century bakery box is such a fabulous unique conversation piece, and can still be put to use as long as food is wrapped. Style it with your favorite cookbooks right on your kitchen counter! Just so cool…
