Francois Martinet’s 18th c. Heron Engraving
Birds take center stage. For quite some time, I’ve been collecting 18th c. bird engravings by Francois Martinet, France. This lovely engraving of a Heron is from my collection, and was originally a Paris Flea Market find! So of course, it had to be framed in a fabulously ancient frame – also from that very same flea market. I chose a grey linen mat to accentuate the Heron’s feathers…and it does! Martinet engravings in beautiful condition are very hard to find.
