A rare find. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I spotted this fantastic 19th c. Carpet Bag! It’s a time capsule in its entirety! Quite generous in scale, its exterior is actually carpet, with leather bottom and brass feet. Two sets of leather handles and a brass lock plate (no key) complete the exterior. The interior is revealed by a hinged top frame with a hinged center and all of the interior is covered in a tea hued cotton. I especially love the hand stitched details that anchor the leather handles! This is truly a one of a kind find!
