Edgartown Whale
$368.00
Thar she blows! This wonderful piece is made from a salvaged cupboard door (a former spot for a latch is on the back) found on Martha’s Vineyard. The artist who created this work of art signed it, and even shared its provenance on the back. The back board must have been a cupboard door with remnants of naive hand painted flowers found on the 2 ends. The whale, as well as the backboard are beautifully worn with an age-old patina that is so hard to reproduce. I love the whales tiny row of white painted teeth. I have had this piece leaning on my Living Room mantle all summer long, and it instantly made such a statement that I had to go with its style flow and change out my throw pillows to reflect a stylish seafaring vibe!
