Rare find. My friend Barbara is a masterful collector of matelasse coverlets. This gorgeous vintage white cotton matelasse coverlet graced a guest room bed in her Nantucket home. This coverlet has the most beautiful woven raised motifs of blossoms, clusters of berries, and leafy vines within a pique field. The center has a beautiful flower medallion. The wide border is made up of a 7” diamond quilted motif and serged edge. This piece would make a beautiful bed covering, wall hanging, or unique tablecloth. Love.
