A noble addition. I have a thing for antique oil portraits from the 18th and 19th centuries. I have a beloved portrait of a 19th c. gentleman hanging over the mantle in my living room. We live in the 1820 Samuel Brooks House, and I now call him Samuel. Benjamin is an early oil painting on canvas that is pasted onto an old curved wood board. He has plenty of time worn scars, but the painting is just so well done.
