Autumn is spectacular here at Connecticut Country House. It’s Nature’s big show, like a fireworks finale on the Fourth of July – brash, blazing, and brilliant, just before the silence settles in. It’s where summer’s last stand meets winter’s first fire. It’s about celebrating the simple, gentle pleasures of the season, capturing nostalgia in a late afternoon hayride out to the orchard. We’re dressed for comfort in favorite old jeans and cozy chunky sweaters, the crunch of the leaves underfoot. Our canvas tote is heavy with freshly picked MacIntoshes. The chill of the crisp air. And that golden late afternoon sunlight…magical.
