Nautical style. This authentic antique glass fishing float is encased in its original rope netting. Hand-blown in dark olive glass, the sphere retains visible air bubbles and a glass pontil seal beneath the netting. The rope is richly oxidized and tightly knotted in traditional maritime fashion, with the original hanging loop intact. Originally used in commercial fishing nets, floats like this were essential tools of late 19th and early 20th century coastal industries.
