Fanciful charm. I love tole. I especially love old tole trays that are beautifully hand painted or stenciled. They can’t be hokey…they need to be the real 19th c./early 20th c. deal. I immediately was attracted to the gracious shaping of this tray, and then the beautiful painterly style technique of the hand painted pansy and rose blossoms, fuschia and colorful parrot or peacock. A richly hand painted 3-tier fountain completes the scene. Rich in original colors, and wonderful scrolly motifs flourish the tray’s raised surround.
For our photo shoot, I styled my Living Room mantle with lush greens and then leaned and overlapped tole trays…oh my, I absolutely loved this unique holiday styling!
