19th Century English Drabware Lion Pudding Mold
$145.00
Oh so authentically English country! This mid-19th century English drabware pudding mold featuring a molded lion in relief within an oval cartouche is finished in a warm buff glaze with natural pooling that enhances the dimensional detailing. The form and clay body are consistent with Staffordshire drabware production circa 1830–1860. The lion motif, often associated with British heraldic symbolism, gives the piece a strong historic presence. The chip on the rim of the piece points to it being an authentic stoneware drabware piece.
