19th c. English Chatelaine
$218.00
A chatelaine is an ornamental chain/clasp worn at the waist by women in the 16th to the 19th centuries, and would have keys, purse, etc. attached to it. I found this fabulous chatelaine at the Bermondsey Market in London. Made primarily of rich cinnamon-hued leather, with white metal accents, this chatelaine is in beautiful condition. Hanging from a shaped clip, are 4 useful pieces: a change purse, a flask, a tiny notebook with tiny pencil (no paper, only front & back cover), and a holder for tiny scissors (no scissors).
