Create a vignette. A large antique pastel painting  is hung over a stack of 2 very old wood boxes. The two surfaces – one on the wall, and the other below needed to be connected in some way. So I found a small artist’s easel at my local thrift shop and fitted it with an unframed painting I had.  Once I had that “bridge” as my foundation, I filled in with more interesting finds: an old moss covered shell, and a antique Plaster of Paris frame.
