What a difference a bunch of daffodils make! On my latest market run, gorgeous, long stemmed, bright yellow faced daffodils greeted me. I couldn’t walk by. Potted up in the usual plastic pots, I popped 3 of them into my cart. I knew exactly what I was going to do with them, and where I was going to put them.

I dug out one of my concrete planters that I use year round, indoors and outdoors, and potted them up adding about 3 handfuls of potting soil. As I placed the planter on the weathered grey coffee table, I loved the grey on grey of the planter and the table, and then the blast of bold yellow and fresh spring green that instantly brightened up the whole space. Something this simple made me feel so content.

The beauty of these daffy’s doesn’t stop here. Once they’re done blooming, I’ll cut them back and plant the bulbs into my yellow daffodil patch. It’s a win-win…indoors and out!

Happy decorating (and gardening)!

Love, Nora

I love daffodils also!! One of my favorite flowers! I have a bouquet of them beside my kitchen sink that I picked yesterday. These came from a patch that was planted two years ago in memory of our granddaughter, Sarah Grace, that died in a farm vehicle accident a little over two years ago. As sweet as her 15 year old face was, these bring a smile to mine as I think sweet memories of her.

Our daffodils are blooming! They make me smile every morning when I open the blinds in our bedroom. I will be bringing some inside very shortly. Aaah, the hope of spring! My meteorologist son reminds me that winter isn’t quite over yet. Thank you, Nora for this sweet reminder that we can have sunshine inside no matter what the weather is on the outside. Also, We enjoyed your wonderful Hugs and Kisses candles for Valentine’s Day. Heavenly scents, beautifully packaged! I am so glad I ordered them. Thank you!

Dear Nora, Your cheery inspiration deserves a poem.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high over vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
    A host of golden daffodils
Beside the lake beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
