Curiosity, whimsy, and history. The Bamffian Lobster or Long-Clawed Lobster, is a hand-colored, copper plate engraving by Shaw and Nodder from the Book, “The Naturalist’s Miscellany”, 1799. This natural history publication was dedicated to Queen Charlotte of Great Britain. For being over 200 years old, the color and condition is truly remarkable!
The gorgeous old soft-green hue washed wood frame not only has a beautiful coastal vibe, but also picks up the same colors that are found in the lobsters legs! Truly a very special piece. Love.
