Eloise’s Tartan & Batik Patchwork Quilt

Made with love. My friend Bonnie’s mom, Eloise (90+ years old!), lives in Maine, and made this beautiful piece by hand. The fabrics that she uses have been collected over many years, and her instinctual use and marriage of colors and patterns is truly inspired. I absolutely love her use of multi-colored tartan fabrics mixed with batik fabrics and the small thread knot that’s centered and completes each square. It is backed with a cheerful Country French patterned cotton. This one-of-a-kind piece truly is a work of art. If I was to hold onto it, I would feature it in our Guest Room (a.k.a. The Cape Cod room), either folded it at the foot of the bed, or hung on the wall behind and above the headboard. Love.
