Chasse a la Course

Refined and elegant. A beloved Paris Flea Market find, this early 19th c. ink watercolor on paper captures a chase – men dressed in top hats on their horses chasing their hounds. This beautiful piece is all about the artist’s gentle brushwork. Professionally framed in a chunky wood frame with corner carvings, and a gilded fillet. I chose a grey mat that works beautifully with the watercolor’s hue, and added a gilded fillet to that as well. This is one very, very special piece.
