I can never resist gorgeous tulips, and now’s the time of year when they’re plentiful and just so beautiful!  At my local market, I deliberate on color, and choose a bunch (10 stems) that’s in half bloom. Once I get home, I re-cut them and simply pop them into a glass vase that’s the size of a large drinking glass and fill it half way with room temp water. The tulips will keep growing in the water, so you may need to refill when the water gets low.

It amazes me just how much freshness such a humble bouquet brings to any spot at Connecticut Country House.
