It’s finally here! I’m so excited to introduce to you my new NMCH Shop! This shop has been something I’ve thought about for some time. So I wanted to launch with something that I feel is so important to my home, and something I’m obsessed with…natural soy scented candles! To me, decorating a home involves all the 5 senses, and starting with the scent is the easiest way to get started, as well as instantly put you into a certain state of mind.

When it comes to candles, I’ve always searched for just the right scent. Scents that were not too strong, not too sweet, and not to heavy. It had to be natural soy, and a creamy white colored candle in a simple glass container. And since Nora Murphy Country House keeps with the rhythm of the seasons, the scents also had to represent the best scents of the seasons. To get all of my wish list in one candle was very hit or miss….mostly miss. So the Nora Murphy Country House Home Scents Collection is born!

We started this summer at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY with the Summer Collection that consisted of Pink Peony, Summer Linen, and Kitchen Garden, just to see if people liked them. And boy, did they! I was thrilled (and surprised) to see how much people loved what I loved! We then developed the Autumn Collection that consists of Apple Picking, French Press, and Orange Pomander. And naturally, the Winter Collection had to follow: Holiday Greens (a big hit right now!), Irish Oatmeal, and Morning Grapefruit. (Our Spring Collection will debut Winter 2018!)

All the candles are lovingly handmade in Connecticut of natural soy wax with cotton wicks, and are available in 2 sizes: 12 oz., and 2.5 oz. We also carefully hand wrap each candle in white boxes tied in approximately 5 feet of black and white check ribbon! Crazy? To me, the details really do matter!

Please take a minute and explore my new SHOP here. I hope you enjoy!

Happy ‘Scentsational’ Decorating!

Love, Nora

I cannot wait to receive my peony and Christmas greens candles. I SO enjoy your blog and your darling house. I, too, live in an antique home in a very historic area of Massachusetts, the South Shore. Mine is a high style cape built in 1727 with a lovely kitchen with a RED Aga stove .The downstairs of our house has quite tall ceilings (for a Cape) and refined details and three fireplaces !

Nora , we’ve been burning the Irish Oatmeal , which is spot on, and when paired with the French Press coffee candle, the aroma is like breakfast aromatherapy!! The whole downstairs smells like a cozy breakfast. The Holiday Greens- well that’s just about gone, it truly has a great scent that just infuses the living room with Christmas!!!? we need to get more as we’re burning through them!! My holiday shopping will be easy as I shall be getting everyone some Nora Murphy Country House candles!! Soo excited!0
