Fall Doors At Connecticut Country House
All seasons, my style and decorating starts at my doors. Better Connecticut’s Scot Haney stopped by Connecticut Country House to ‘talk fall door decor’ and help me put the finishing touches on both of my front doors (for the 1767 part of the house, and the 1857 Chicken Coop – our Master Bedroom). I always use what’s in season, and love creating something that will make people smile. Watch the video for all the details!

How do you secure the corn stalks? (so they stand up straight and don’t blow away!)
Hi Margaret! I simply tap a nail into the clapboard, tie the stalks with raffia, and loop raffia onto the nail. They still have a tendency to move with the wind a little, but do stay up straight no matter what. Hope this helps! Love, Nora
