I know I say this every month, but where did August go? Or summer for that matter!

With the crazy schedule creating “the book”, (and a list of other projects), summer flew like it’s never flown by so quickly before! Last week we moved Conor back to school and helped him set up his new digs. Then Murph and I squeezed in a very last minute Cape Cod getaway before Labor Day. Cape Cod is my happy place. What a difference just a few days make in refueling my reserves!

So, I’m ready for fall (sort of!). Lots going on!

The book shoots are almost complete. Last stop this month, Vermont Country House! Can’t wait!

Tracy Furey, WFSB’s Better Connecticut Executive Producer & I have lots to plan for the new season. Really looking forward to that! (Please let me know if there’s anything you would like to see!)

Our ecommerce build is coming along, and we’re still targeting our luanch for early October. Stay tuned!

Oh! And The Amara Awards deadline is next week, so if you haven’t cast your vote for NMCH yet, please do! I so appreciate all your help and support! You can vote here.

So I’ll be keeping a close eye on the month (as it flies by again!) on my desktop. You can too. Please download your free NMCH September Desktop here.

Enjoy September!

Love, Nora

    Lovely! Waiting for the book.

Nora, I’ve been reading your blog for only a few months. It has been such a great read for me. I can hardly wait until I get home from work so that I can see if anything new has been posted. Your home and your decorating style are just wonderful. I’ve never been to New England but reading your blog gives me such a sense of the environment, weather, etc. I live in Texas and we don’t have as many wonderful old trees or snow as Connecticut! I’ve even read thru earlier years of your blog and magazines and have some wonderful new ideas from your posts. Thank you so much for sharing some of your days with us. You are such a sweet and kind spirit and please keep up the great work!!

On WFSB I would like to see field trips to antique stores, etc., as well as more seasonal decorating and activities. Perhaps a trip to gather fall mums, pumpkins, etc. and then see how you use them at your home and garden. I love the garden and recipe segments too. Your videos on wrapping packages for the holidays was wonderful. Enjoy!

Hi Nora. Lots of luck with your book. I imagine the hardest part is picking which photos to use. On a different note, I would love to see autumn decorating ideas, ideas on using natural elements, such as woodland finds, nests etc to decorate, and ideas on putting gardens to bed.
    Thanks, Becki

Nora, I purchased a 1780 farm house in Litchfield a year ago and have had so much fun shopping at estate sales and auctions in the area. Am so inspired by the painted floor in your kitchen, I’m going to try for a similar look. What you’ve done with your home, all your “vignettes”, your furnishings, artwork, your gardens – I absolutely love. I’ve wanted an all-white country home for many years and you’ve given me the courage to go for it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
