Good morning.  It was 6 months ago today on a Friday morning, here in Newtown, 20 children and 6 of their teachers lost their lives.  Quite innocently they went to school that morning, and never returned back home.

All I know, is that the last 6 months has given me a new awareness and appreciation.  This tragedy has taught me to count my blessings.  It’s taught me to have more patience, and to step back from time to time and enjoy the view – the world around me.  Give thanks for the simple little things.

To know that no one is guaranteed tomorrow – so live today like there’s no tomorrow.  To try and make a difference – in the best way I can.  To stand up straight and tall with my beloved community – stick together no matter what.  To give more hugs.  To say “Love you” more.

As we say here in Newtown, “We are Newtown.  We choose love.”

Love, Nora
