There’s something about a deep inky blue that really speaks to me.  Maybe it’s the depth of the hue.  Maybe it’s how it pops pretty much anything – an outfit, a table setting, the decor of a room, all the while keeping the whole look grounded.

I’ve always loved the graphic crispness and versatility of black.  Well, the same goes for an inky blue. It knows what it wants to be without the severity.  Depending on how and where you use it, and how much of it you use, this color can set a vibe that is modern and sporty, or set the stage for an elegance that can be rustic or chic.

Just like a navy wool blazer coupled with a crisp white poplin shirt (and if that shirt has fine inky blue stripes – all the better), or a white linen summer dress patterned with inky blue flowers, they are loyal pieces that are true classics on there own, or can become extremely fashion-forward when mixed with colors like coral, lime green, or a smokey grey. It can play second fiddle by taking on the role of a neutral and creating a rich, solid foundation, or it can take the lead as a bold sophisticated statement.  Just love playing with the blues!

Love, Nora

When I think of blue I think of my Mother, it was her favorite color. She loved Navy blue as do I.
