Entertaining at Bow House, my dear friend Marta’s home, is relaxed and casual, and moves from room to room. The first stop is the gorgeous cheese board in the kitchen that’s set up on an eighteenth-century farm table in the center of the room.
Here’s Marta’s recipe for her cheeseboard:

Place off-center a perfectly cut slab of petrified wood to serve on.

A healthy wedge of St. Andre (a semi-soft cheese) is sprinkled with dried cranberries, candied pecans, and drizzled with honey right before serving.

A wedge of creamy Toscana cheese with a Shiraz-soaked rind.

Fresh figs cut in half.

Assorted crackers: raisin and rosemary crisps, and stone ground wheat crackers.

Bone handled serving utensils.

Linen cocktail napkins.

Blue-green squash

Wild grapes and vines.

A cold, crisp Chardonnay, Toasted Head.
